Biography

Dr. Katelyn Cassin received her Ph.D. in International Development and Global Studies from the University of Ottawa in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada in 2022, afterwhich she completed a 19-month postdoctoral fellowship with the Peacebuilding and Local Knowledge Network (PLKN), an international research collaboration of academics, policy makers and practitioners headquartered at the University of Ottawa. She has taught various courses as a Sessional Professor at the University of Ottawa on the topics of global citizenship, the security-development nexus and humanitarian action. Her research focuses on cultural and relational peacebuilding, everyday interfaces with UN peacekeeping operations, the conflict and peace dynamics of south Lebanon, and the implications of the shifting global order on peace and security, with numerous publications reflecting these areas of interest.
