Dr. Gökçe Elif Baykal is an assistant professor in the Communication Design department at Özyeğin University. Her research focuses on incorporating learning theories into interaction design practices and methods in child-computer interaction. Her research includes spatial thinking in virtual and augmented reality environments and technology-mediated collaborative interaction. She received her Ph.D. in Design, Technology and Society Program with Graduate Studies Excellence Award from Koç University in 2018. She worked as a post-doctoral fellow in Information Studies at Aarhus University, Denmark, between 2018-2020. In the past years, she worked as a screenwriter for TRT Çocuk (National Broadcasting Channel for Children in Turkey) television series for children. She was awarded by Science Academy's Young Scientists Program (BAGEP) 2022 in the Education/Design category. She is the director of Design Interactions Lab.
